Lake Bunyonyi is located in the Bundibugyo District in western Uganda, just 7 kilometers from the famous Kabale Town and adjacent to the Rwanda border area. The lake is 25 kilometers long and 7 kilometers wide, and it is one of the few rivers in the area without schistosomiasis, making it a popular spot for water sports nearby.

At an altitude of 1962 meters, Lake Bunyonyi is surrounded by mountains ranging from 2200 to 2478 meters high, which have been developed into terraced fields. This not only brings joy of harvest to the local people but also makes it one of the most distinctive scenic spots among the mountains.
