Banha is a city in the northeast of Egypt, the capital of Qalyubia Governorate, located 48 kilometers north of Cairo, in the southern part of the Nile Delta, on the right bank of the Damietta River. It is currently the center of Egypt’s electronics industry. The city serves as a major railway junction, boasting the sixth largest train station in Egypt, and is also home to Banha University.
In the north of Banha lies the site of several ancient cities known as “Athribis,” dating back to around 1500 BC. However, this area has never been studied by archaeologists. Over the years, farmers have discovered a large number of silver artifacts here.
