The Friday Mosque: Located north of Imam Square, it was built in 1602 and took 18 years to complete. It was constructed by King Shah Abbas to commemorate the great Lebanese scholar Sheik Lutfullah. This masterpiece of an Iranian mosque features a huge dome supported by a 170cm-thick brick wall, appearing fragile but incredibly sturdy. The main color of the mosque is yellow. The minarets in its courtyard resemble a prayer hall. The exterior of the dome is adorned with floral themes and various Arabesque decorations. Inside the prayer hall, the glazed decorations on the dome exhibit rhombus and Arabic pattern themes, crafted with great skill. The “Half-Harlab” there is made of glazed tiles inlaid with processed and stalactite-like decorations, possessing significant artistic value. It is designated as one of the world cultural heritages and is the oldest mosque in the city.
