Legnica – Legnica, Poland Travel Guide

Legnica is a city in southwestern Poland, located along the Kaczawa River. It is part of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. People settled here as early as the 7th century, with the city first mentioned in 1004. It has now developed into an important industrial hub.

Legnica is renowned for its tranquil parks and colorful gardens, boasting over 700 hectares of green spaces, most of which are along the Kaczawa River, providing leisure and recreational areas for its residents. During World War II, only a few buildings in the old city were damaged. However, after 1965, many of the well-preserved historic buildings were demolished, giving rise to a modern urban landscape. In recent years, Legnica has become a popular filming location for numerous movies and TV series, showcasing its charm on screen and gaining recognition.
