The Underwater Sculpture Gallery is located underwater in the Grenada Sea. This sculpture project began in May 2006, mainly sculpted by the renowned sculptor Jason Taylor with the support of the Grenada Ministry of Tourism and Culture.
Each sculpture in the Underwater Sculpture Gallery is sculpted to the proportions of real-life figures. These sculptures are carved on land, then transported and anchored underwater. It is an eco-friendly art sanctuary, with many materials used for the sculptures being recycled from coral reefs. It is a unique art sanctuary, offering visitors a new environment. Diving into the water, visitors are no longer passive observers like in a typical sculpture gallery; instead, they actively engage in discovering and carefully observing every detail of the sculptures, even dancing and playing with the fish underwater. Moreover, it is a mysterious art sanctuary, as the ocean itself is a mysterious medium, coupled with the sculptures of various forms and ever-changing appearances. With the continuous influence of seawater and various marine life, these sculptures undergo subtle changes every day, adding a touch of legend to the sculpture gallery.
The Underwater Sculpture Gallery combines diving and art appreciation, making it an ideal tourist destination.
